Abstract

Benefiting from increased end-market demand, advanced procurement by branded vendors in anticipation of the launch of Vista, continuing replacement demand for value-line notebook PCs, and sufficient component supply, Taiwanese notebook PC shipment volume increased 30.6% year-on-year, and 17.8% sequentially, to approximately 19.9 million units in the fourth quarter of 2006.
